Job Purpose:
Water and Sediment Control Officer works under the direction of the Mine Environmental Protection and Enhancement Office. He/ She conducts monitoring and ensure ,maintenance of the environmental mitigating structures of the company such as Settling Ponds, Check Dams, and Sumps including drainages. He/She investigates sources of the water pollution and immediately acts on it to prevent the pollution.
He/She also assist in the conduct of planning/ designing, identification, evaluation of environmental structures to prevent and control contamination of nearby waterbodies. He/She often work both in the office and in the field.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Facilitate the proper and productive implementation of the planned work program of the Department/Company in accordance with the Annual Environmental Protection and Enhancement Programs (AEPEP).
In-Charge of the team assigned to him/her by the immediate superior including but not limited to leading, directing, and facilitating any of the field worker and activities.
Complete and maintain field notes and other documentations; submit on time accomplishment report to his/her supervisor.
Assist in planning/monitoring and evaluation of environmental structures.
Maintain discipline among his/her subordinates and evaluate work performance; maintain harmonious working relationship with co-workers and co-employees.
Ensures proper implementation of established company policies, internal environmental policy and safety rules and regulations.
Inspects check and ensure that equipment under the Water and Sediment Control Section are in good operating condition before assigning such into the field.
Perform other related tasks as assigned by his/her superior.
Qualification Requirements
Minimum Educational Requirements
College Graduate preferably Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Management or equivalent
Minimum Experience Requirements
- For Engineering other related course at least 1 year experience in environmental protection/ construction with good knowledge in AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, and other related software.
- For Environmental related at least 2 years’ experience in an environmental- mining related industry.
Interest in mine environmental protection and enhancement ·
Must be willing to work in Brooke’s Point, Palawan (free accommodation, transportation, and meals)
