The Program Officer provides technical and administrative support to the Corporate Resiliency Manager to ensure implementation of DRR Projects/activities and provide clear and proper communications of DRR initiatives/activities to both internal and external stakeholders and partners.
JOB DUTIES
- Gather, collate and process relevant data needed in the formulation of disaster and business continuity information such as disaster risk profiles, weather bulletins, incidents, disaster risk assessments and etc. for the Resilience center for purposes of knowledge pooling and, when needed, for dissemination to authorized end users;
- Create database of GIS-based risk maps and related information, to include map preparation;
- Provide technical expertise in the crafting of the disaster risk assessments and propose strategies in coordination with concerned SM departments;
- Liaison and coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure 100% operation of the Center;
- Provide documentation and activity reports to the planned and on-going Resilience Center activities;
- Ensure smooth operation of the Center in states of its activation/deactivation and capacity building;
- Provide data storage space, accept, collate and archive said data and other information deposited by SME partners and other authorized stakeholders of SM and ready for retrieval by data owners upon request. Manage the Conduct of trainings related to DRR and Resiliency and other related subject matters and as directed;
- Conduct research and provide suggestions on possible DRR projects in alignment to UNDRR and ARISE priorities;
- Provide activity reports on DRR/Resilience initiatives implemented internally and externally;
- Provide assistance to DRR Consultant and ARISE Philippines Secretariat;
- Provide support to orientation/workshops to MSMEs on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR)/ Business Continuity Planning (DRR/BC Planning) Oversee social media posting for ARISE PH;
- Communicate and liaise with private sector partners of ARISE Philippines;
- Provide assistance on other tasks assigned by immediate supervisor.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate of a 4-year course: Human Settlements, Environmental Science or other related course
- Experience in organizing events, background in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM), Environmental Science, familiarity on UN Frameworks, COP21, New Urban Agenda.
WORK LOCATION
- Candidates must be willing to be deployed in the Head Office – MAAX Bldg., Pasay City.
