Markets & Treasury Financial Control (MTFC) team is responsible for maintaining a robust control environment whilst producing financial reporting and analysis forthe Markets and Treasury divisions. MTFC ensures the business is well managed from a financial and regulatory standpoint through the application of disciplined end-to-end trial balance control processes including but not limited to Balance Sheet & Profit/Loss recognition and substantiation, through new trades review, P&L explain/attribution of all market and model inputs, price testing of trader marked inputs, defined valuation adjustments, analytical review and review of regulatory data, performance attribution, and FX/cash exposures management.

The Financial Control Specialist in MTFC is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate delivery of (1) management performance reports (such as but not limited consolidated Markets daily P&L, flash) and (2) daily and monthly MTFC key control measurements reporting covering overall financial end-to-end controls (P&L sign-off, BSOR reporting, overall MTFC adjustments, outsourcing governance reporting among others). He/She will work with the wider MTFC Reporting Platforms, Data & Insights (RPDI) team in improving the standard of professionalism on the reporting outputs and the ways of accessing moving towards self-service reporting. He/She is also a controls subject matter specialist expected to (1) develop collaborative relationships within MTFC helping to ensure robust control environment and; (2) work closely with the MTFC Framework and Control team helping to manage internal/ external audits and control procedures review.

  • Markets and treasury product knowledge gathered through past work experience in Markets Finance (Product Control, Valuation Control or Financial Control), Market Risk, or Markets Front Office

  • Process re-engineering and interpersonal skills to form meaningful and value-added relationships with businesses and across finance teams.

  • Excellent communication skills as will be communicating with senior stakeholders across the bank delivering Markets and Treasury results

  • Advanced Excel skills and experience in change and automation
