Company Description

Philippine Belt Manufacturing Corporation was established in 1971 to provide locally-manufactured rubber beltings. It was the first industrial belting company in the Philippines and is now considered as one of the largest producers of rubber belts in Southeast Asia. Philbelt manufactures v-belts, fan belts, flat transmission belts and conveyor belts using Japanese Technology. It forged a licensing agreement with Bando Chemical Industries, Ltd. of Japan for the manufacture of v-belts and conveyor belts. As a result of this partnership, technology and facilities were upgraded. All Philbelt staff and employees were instilled with the awareness of quality and service to meet its clients' standard of excellence. This foresight was rewarded with solid relationships worldwide as it started to export in 1986 to the U.S.A. and the major countries in Asia. From 1986 to present, a dramatic increase in Philbelt exports has been noted ever since it pursued an export-oriented marketing program.

Through the years, Philbelt has maintained the quality and reliability of its products. These are the main factors which make Philbelt a world-class quality automotive and industrial belting supplier in the Philippines and around the globe. 1971 Philippine Belt Manufacturing Corporation was organized by Vicente Hao Chin, Sr. It was the first industrial belting company in the Philippines with a full line of belting products such as v-belts, flat belts and conveyor belts. 1973 Approved as a pioneer preferred investment by the Board of Investments. 1975 Commenced manufacturing operations. 1978 Entered into a joint venture and technical license agreement with Bando Chemical Industries, Ltd. of Kobe, Japan, one of the world's largest belting companies. 1986 Expanded production capacity with BOI incentives for export expansion. 1989 Received quality approval from American Petroleum Institute. 1990 Second expansion program with BOI incentives. Received Class "A" Supplier - Excellent Quality citation from General Electric Company, U.S.A. 1991 Received Supplier of the Month Award from General Electric, U.S.A. Approved as accredited supplier of Toshiba, Japan. Approved by Japan's Ministry of Trade and Industry as a JIS-accredited company. 1994 to 1996 Third expansion program with BOI incentives.

Product & Services

Product consistency and high quality standards have earned Philbelt World-Class Marks from reputable quality standard agencies and companies in the U.S. and Japan. Philbelt V-Belts have been awarded the Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) Mark in 1991 by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry in Japan. The accreditation process of JIS required intensive screening and evaluation to ensure the capability of a company to meet and maintain rigid quality standards and quality consistency. As a major supplier of belts for General Electric of Kentucky, U.S.A., Philbelt has been cited by the company with its "Class A Excellent Supplier" distinction for having consistently supplied zero-defect V-Belts. Consistent in-process checking employees, awareness of product standards, and company quality assurance systems - these are the elements that make Philbelt an accepted quality-product supplier. Power Transmission Belts Philbelt distributes four types of power transmission belts: the Rib Ace Belt, Raw Edge Cog Belt, Standard Wrapped Belt and the Synchronous Timing Belt. Conveyor Belts Philbelt can design and manufacture individualized conveyor belts that are tailor-made to the specific requirement of the client. This guarantees the technical and economical optimization of the belt. Related Products Aside from V-Belts & Conveyor Belts, Philbelt also offers the following products: Flat Transmission Belts Rubber Sheets Rubber Skirting Pulley Lagging Splicing Chemicals
